BIG QUESTION: I want to buy a house, your advice?

I really want to buy a house within the next year. Could you please give me your advice on home-buying?
I’m especially wondering about my budget … how much my monthly house-related expenses are likely to be… water, electric, garbage pick-up, etc. Any hidden municipal/city/county taxes I should watch out for?
Also, how much reserve (rainy day) funds should I have set aside before I buy?
Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!!!

Before you even start looking, find a bank/morgage broker and get a pre-qualification letter. That will tell your Realtor the price range you’re able to shop. They will be well qualified to advise you as to taxes, insurance, utilities, etc. Know the general area you’d like to live in, and the requirements, such as how many bedroom/bathrooms/garage. Remember things you will might need, such as fencing, window coverings, furniture. It sounds like a lot (and it kind of is!), but with a good Realtor, they’ll get you right through it. Good luck!
