Buy a house while legally married?

I want to buy a house in house in California but I am still legally married ,just separated.I am worried about my husband claiming 50% of it when we get divorce.What should I do?
The person who answer my question can you tell me what is that mean LLC?

if you feel it is important to buy the house now,
buy it in an LLC. While that is sneaky, it
is used by many people to solve the problem you
face.
