Can I buy a house and receive the $8000 tax credit in same fiscal year?
My escrow is due to close by end of the month (March 2010). Is it possible to file for the 00 tax credit (I do qualify) this April and have the 00 tax credit applied towards my 2009 taxes to get a refund this year? Or do I have to wait until next year (2011) for it to take effect? Thank you much in advance! =)

YES – you just have to amend your 2009 tax return (if you’ve already filed – if not, then you file the proper paperwork and file it before April 15th) so the money is in your pocket this year! Congrats!!
